Terms and Conditions for Carpet Cleaners Ilford

Carpet cleaning appointment and service terms documentThese Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which carpet cleaning services are provided by Carpet Cleaners Ilford. By making a booking, confirming an appointment, or allowing work to begin, the customer agrees to these terms. They are designed to create clear expectations about the booking process, payment, cancellations, liability, waste handling, and the legal framework governing the service. References to “we”, “us”, and “our” mean the service provider; references to “you” and “your” mean the customer receiving the service.

These terms apply to domestic and commercial carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning where included in the booking, stain treatment, and related cleaning services agreed in writing or verbally before work starts. They form a contract between the customer and the service provider, and they should be read carefully before any appointment is confirmed. If any part of these terms is unclear, the customer should raise the matter before booking so that the service can be tailored appropriately.

Professional cleaning booking and pricing conditionsWe aim to provide a professional carpet cleaning service that is carried out with reasonable care and skill, using appropriate methods and equipment for the condition of the carpets and the type of fibres involved. However, the success of any cleaning treatment depends on many factors, including previous wear, fibre type, age, staining, and prior cleaning history. For that reason, no promise is made that every mark, odour, or defect can be fully removed.

Booking Process

Bookings may be made through the usual appointment channels offered by the business. When requesting a service, the customer should provide accurate details about the property, access arrangements, carpet type, approximate room sizes, known stains, and any special requirements. This information helps us assess the likely method, timing, and cost of the job. Where the customer gives incomplete or inaccurate information, the quoted price or service plan may need to be revised before work begins.

Any quotation provided before inspection is based on the information supplied by the customer and is therefore an estimate unless stated otherwise. A final confirmation of the booking may depend on availability, suitability of the job, or any additional details identified before the appointment. We reserve the right to decline or adjust a booking if the service requested is unsafe, beyond our capability, or likely to require specialist treatment not originally discussed.

Liability and customer responsibility terms for carpet cleaningOnce a booking is accepted, the customer will usually receive an agreed date, time window, and scope of work. The customer must ensure that the property is accessible at the scheduled time and that a responsible adult is present where required. Delays caused by lack of access, parking restrictions, failure to respond, or unsuitable working conditions may result in additional charges or cancellation fees. Where the job involves multiple rooms or areas, the final order of work may be adjusted on site for practical reasons.

We may require a deposit or advance payment to secure certain appointments, particularly for larger or high-demand bookings. Any such requirement will be made clear at the time of booking. A booking is not fully confirmed until the required deposit, pre-authorisation, or acceptance of terms has been received. We reserve the right to reschedule where the customer has not provided the necessary confirmation or where site conditions have materially changed since the original booking request.

The customer should remove fragile items, valuables, small personal objects, and breakables from work areas before the appointment unless we have expressly agreed otherwise. While care is taken during service, we do not accept responsibility for items left in the cleaning area unless damage is caused directly by our negligence. Furniture movement may be agreed in advance, but any heavy, fixed, unstable, or high-value item may be left in place if it could be unsafe to move.

Payments

Prices are normally based on the agreed scope of work, room count, area size, or other quoted basis. Unless stated otherwise, all prices are exclusive of any applicable taxes or charges that may apply under law. Where additional work is requested on the day, such as treatment of extra areas, specialist stain removal, or added upholstery cleaning, the price may increase accordingly. The customer will be informed of any significant change before the extra work is carried out where reasonably practicable.

Payment is due in accordance with the amount and method agreed at booking or upon completion of the service, depending on the arrangement stated for the appointment. Accepted payment methods may vary and will be confirmed in advance where possible. If payment is due immediately after the job, the customer must ensure funds are available. We reserve the right to withhold any optional report, receipt, or follow-up service until outstanding sums have been settled in full.

Late or failed payments may result in recovery action, administrative charges where lawful, and suspension of future bookings. If a customer disputes part of an invoice, they must pay the undisputed amount on time and raise the concern promptly. Any genuine billing issue will be reviewed fairly. Discounts, offers, or promotional pricing may be withdrawn if the booking does not meet the stated conditions or if the customer changes the service request materially before arrival.

Waste handling and cancellation policy for cleaning servicesCancellations and Rescheduling

The customer may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving reasonable notice. If sufficient notice is provided, we will usually seek to rearrange the appointment without penalty, subject to availability. Where notice is short, or where a slot has been reserved specifically for the customer and cannot reasonably be reallocated, a cancellation charge may apply. Any deposit paid may be retained partly or fully to reflect the loss of time and administration, to the extent permitted by law.

If our team arrives and cannot access the property, cannot proceed because of unsafe conditions, or is turned away without adequate notice, the booking may be treated as a late cancellation or wasted visit. In those circumstances, a call-out fee or cancellation fee may be charged. We will always act reasonably and consider the reason for the delay or cancellation, but repeated short-notice changes may lead to refusal of future bookings.

We may also need to cancel or reschedule due to illness, severe weather, vehicle failure, equipment issues, or other events beyond our control. If this happens, we will make reasonable efforts to offer an alternative date. We are not liable for indirect loss arising from such unavoidable changes, provided we act in good faith and notify the customer as soon as reasonably possible.

Service Standards and Liability

We will provide services using reasonable care and skill and in a manner that is suitable for the cleaning task agreed. However, carpets and fabrics vary widely, and certain materials may react unpredictably to moisture, heat, detergent, agitation, or pre-existing wear. Customers are responsible for telling us about delicate fibres, previous repairs, underfloor heating, loose seams, dye instability, or existing damage. Failure to disclose relevant information may affect the outcome and may limit any claim.

The customer acknowledges that cleaning may sometimes reveal pre-existing damage, stains, fading, shading, pile distortion, shrinkage, fibre wear, or adhesive failure that was not obvious before treatment. We are not responsible for faults that were already present or for outcomes caused by natural material characteristics. Where a spot or stain is judged to be permanent or highly resistant, we may attempt treatment but do not guarantee complete removal.

Governing law and final service agreement termsTo the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the direct loss or damage caused by our proven negligence or breach of contract. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, consequential loss, or indirect damage, except where such exclusion is not allowed by law.

Where we move lightweight furniture as part of the service, we will do so with reasonable care. Nevertheless, we are not liable for scratches, marks, dents, or damage arising from items that are unstable, poorly assembled, already weakened, or unsuitable to move. Any furniture that contains electronics, liquids, sharp components, or concealed hazards should be made known in advance. The customer remains responsible for securing pets, children, and vulnerable persons away from the working area during the service.

After cleaning, drying times will vary depending on weather, airflow, carpet type, and the level of soiling treated. We may provide an estimated drying period, but this is not a guarantee. Customers should avoid walking on damp carpets where possible and should follow any aftercare instructions that are reasonably given on site. We are not liable for re-soiling, odour return, or marks caused by use before the carpet has fully dried.

Any complaint about the quality of service should be raised as soon as reasonably possible after completion. If we agree that a problem is directly connected to our workmanship, we may offer a reasonable remedy, which could include re-cleaning the affected area where appropriate. This remedy is the customer’s first and primary remedy, provided it is practical and proportionate. No remedy will be required where the issue results from factors outside our control or from information withheld by the customer.

Waste Regulations and Property Care

We operate in accordance with applicable UK waste and environmental requirements. Wastewater, residue, filter material, used cloths, packaging, and other by-products from the cleaning process will be handled responsibly and disposed of in a lawful manner. Customers must not instruct us to dispose of waste in a way that breaches regulations, local rules, or environmental duties. If special disposal arrangements are required because of contamination, biohazards, or unusual materials, additional charges may apply.

Any hazardous, restricted, or contaminated material discovered during the service must be declared before cleaning begins. This includes substances that may pose a risk to health, safety, or the environment. We may refuse to clean an item or area if it presents an unacceptable risk or if handling it would require specialist waste controls beyond the normal scope of carpet cleaning. In such cases, any fee already paid may be adjusted according to the work completed, subject to lawful deductions.

The customer must ensure the property is suitable for the service and that drainage, electricity, and water access are available where required. If equipment needs to be connected to utilities, the customer confirms that permission has been obtained and that connections are safe and lawful. We are not responsible for issues arising from faulty electrical supplies, inadequate drainage, hidden leaks, or pre-existing property defects.

Insurance, Access, and Customer Responsibilities

We maintain such insurance cover as we consider appropriate for the nature of the work carried out. A copy of insurance details may be made available on request where relevant. Insurance does not extend to losses caused by inaccurate customer information, unsafe premises, prohibited substances, or the customer’s failure to follow reasonable instructions. Customers should keep proof of any valuables, prior damage, or sensitive items they wish to protect from the cleaning process.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that the areas to be cleaned are ready for access at the scheduled time. This includes ensuring that any pets are restrained, any children are supervised, and any obstacles are removed where possible. If there is limited parking, restricted access, or complex entry procedures, these should be explained before the appointment. Any extra time required because access was not properly arranged may be chargeable if it causes material delay.

Where the service requires entry into a property, the customer confirms that they have authority to permit the work. If permission is later shown to be lacking, we may suspend or stop the service immediately. In those circumstances, the customer may remain responsible for charges incurred up to the point of suspension, including travel or setup costs where reasonable. We may also refuse to continue if our staff are subjected to abuse, unsafe conduct, or unreasonable interference.

Variation of Terms, Severability, and Governing Law

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in law, service practice, or business operations. The version in force at the time of booking will normally apply to that appointment unless a later version is expressly accepted by both parties. No change will remove rights that the customer has under consumer law, and nothing in these terms is intended to limit statutory protections that cannot be excluded.

If any clause is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, the remaining clauses will continue in full force. Any failure by us to enforce a right on one occasion does not mean that we waive that right on another occasion. These terms are intended to be interpreted in a fair and reasonable way that reflects the nature of the carpet cleaning service and the expectations of both parties.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from or connected with the service, the booking, or these terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. By proceeding with a booking, the customer confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these conditions.
